With just days to go until the new Premier League seasons and a mere three signings so far, Everton fans could be forgiven for being slightly under-whelmed by their summer activity.
After a promising first campaign at the helm for Roberto Martinez, last season Everton were expected to kick on and challenge for a spot in the top four. Instead they suffered a torrid campaign with the team looking devoid of ideas.
This summer's transfer window provided them with a chance to add to the side and start afresh in the coming season, however, unlike their Merseyside counterparts Liverpool, Everton have been extremely slow in dealings.

There are seemingly no deals on the horizon apart from River Plate teenager Tomas Andrade. One for the future, 19-year-old Andrade would not be involved much next season.
Everton’s only signings so far this summer have been Gerard Deulofeu, and the permanent additions of Tom Cleverley and David Henen. Again Henen is one for the future as Martinez told the BBC back in 2014.
“He's someone whose potential we recognise and at this stage he will go into the Under-21 development squad."
Finding the 'Right Type'
Martinez again spoke to the BBC to echo the fans' frustrations with finding the right type of player.
"We are looking for the right characteristics and we will work extremely hard until the deadline.” explained the Spanish manager.
"What is clear is we need to bring in three players to get the squad in the shape we want to face the competition.”
In a further blow Martinez also revealed to the Liverpool Echo that record singing Romelu Lukaku is a major doubt for their season opener against Watford.
The Belgian striker failed to finish last weeks match against Scottish side Dundee and did not feature in friendlies against Leeds United and Villarreal.
The Echo report that he will be assessed in the next 48 hours before the club decide whether he will be included.
