Injury curse strikes again for Switzerland

Published Add your comment

Steve von Bergen on Thursday became the third member of the Switzerland squad to be forced out of a pre-Euro 2008 training camp through injury.

The Hertha Berlin defender broke a bone in his hand in Lugano and doctors have told him he will not recover in time for the showpiece which the Swiss are co-hosting with neighbouring Austria.

Von Bergen, 24, joins goalkeeper Fabio Coltorti and striker Blaise NKufo in having to pull out.
