Balague on Benzema
Arsenal fans just can’t keep away from speculation concerning Karim Benzema at the moment, and it was only a matter of time before Spanish transfer know-it-all Guillem Balague had his say.
Well he has, and we’re duly running with it today. Writing for newspaper AS, Balague claimed that Real Madrid have no intention of selling Benzema, and even if they wanted to the Gunners can’t afford the transfer fee.

He goes on to say that the Frenchman, who scored 22 goals in all competitions last year, would cost between €50million and €60m, which is more than Arsene Wenger can apparently afford. Cold water on the fire to say the very least, but Balague has been wrong on such matters in the past, so the jury is still out.
Henry on Benteke
Meanwhile Gunners legend Thierry Henry has picked the man he would most like to play with, and, somewhat unsurprisingly, it isn’t Olivier Giroud.
The Frenchman selected new Liverpool star Christian Benteke as his ideal partner, citing the Belgian’s ability to hold the ball up and complement his talents.
Of course Arsenal were linked with Benteke two seasons ago, before he pledged his future to Aston Villa. He’ll now spearhead Liverpool’s push for a first Premier League title.
Last but not least Wojciech Szczesny has admitted he wants to return to Arsenal when his season-long loan with AS Roma has run its course.
The Polish stopper has joined the Serie A outfit following Wenger’s purchase of Petr Cech and, whilst he described Roma as one of the biggest clubs in the world, confirmed his desire to return to the Emirates Stadium fold.
