Two weeks on from the emergence of his career-ending racist rant, Hulk Hogan is again back in the headlines.
According to The National Reporter, the now former WWE Superstar has been accused of lying under oath as he and news publication, Gawker, continue a $100 million lawsuit that long precedes the recent racism storm.
From bad to worse
Should the allegations, made by Gawker attorney Seth Berlin on July 2nd, be proven to be true then Hogan could even be facing jail such is the severity of the situation.
With Hogan and Gawker embroiled in a lawsuit relating to the publication of a sex tape involving the wrestler, the allegations focus on contrasting testimony given by Hogan to a deposition and whilst talking to the FBI.
Berlin reportedly told the early July hearing that Hogan's statements were "directly at odds with another." The attorney summed up the situation as follows:
"We have a situation...where the key participant, the plaintiff, is telling us one thing and telling the FBI something else."
The situation is a serious one for the veteran wrestler. Lie during a deposition and it would be classed as perjury, whilst lying to the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Hogan's word would fall under obstruction of justice.
Spending time behind bars is a very real punishment for either.
At this time there has been no comments form Hulk Hogan's camp regarding the latest report against his name.
With the Superstar continuing to fight back against claims he is a racist, accusations of lying under oath are only the latest in an increasingly long line of issues he and his team are facing at the present time.
