Lehmann pays tribute to Kahn

Oliver Kahn has received an unexpectedly warm tribute from Jens Lehmann - the man who had rivalled him for the Germany number one jersey for eight years.

The two goalkeepers´ feuds hit the headlines in the build-up to the 2006 World Cup, after which Kahn retired from international football, but Lehmann has paid tribute to a man who left an indelible mark on his own career.

"Despite all our rivalry, I have got to say that your attitude has always impressed me immensely," said the Arsenal goalkeeper in a message broadcast to Kahn, a studio guest on Germany´s ZDF television.
