Pauleta makes emotional farewell

Paris St Germain striker Pedro Pauleta admitted his emotions got the better of him during the 1-1 draw against St Etienne at the Parc des Princes, his last home game for the capital club.

The former Portugal international, whose contract expires in the summer, could not bid adieu to the PSG public with a goal but he was still afforded a fabulous ovation by the crowd, who applauded him off the pitch following an emotional speech in the centre circle after the final whistle.

"I had one opportunity in the first half but at first I thought I was offside and then the goalkeeper reacted well," said Pauleta, who has scored 109 goals in his five years at PSG.
