Real Madrid star Marcelo hits fan in the face with rocket shot

A young Real Madrid fan got more than he bargained for when a stinging drive from Marcelo narrowly missed the goal and instead smashed him in the head.

Sitting just a few rows from the pitch in the 0-0 stalemate between Madrid and Valerenga, a young boy took the brunt of Marcelo’s sweet strike.

The footage, which can be seen below, saw the lad using his mobile phone whilst at the game. Unaware that Marcelo had missed, not a muscle was moved before the strike took full effect.

Coiling the young supporters neck backwards, the phone is seen flinging behind him, as a muscle wasn’t moved in anticipation of the approaching ball.

It’s not known whether the boy was recording the action, as you may assume he would have seen the ball coming, but if he did, it would make for a remarkable video.

History repeats itself

As noted in the Daily Mirror, the Marcelo strike was not too dissimilar to that of Yaya Toure’s against QPR last season, where the Ivorian pelted a young girl in the face with a stray shot.

Reportedly, Toure invited the little girl to a training session and showered her with gifts after his mis-hit, but it is unknown whether Marcelo matched Toure’s kindness.
