Last season Liverpool fans were introduced to the Spanish defensive talent that is Alberto Moreno.
The full-back joined the Reds in the summer from boyhood club Sevilla for a fee of £12million and went on to show that his blistering pace, crossing and shooting prowess make him an exciting option in attack for manager Brendan Rodgers.
Moreno has competition
However, Moreno's adventurous runs down the flank often left holes for Liverpool in the back four last season, and the young left-back was often criticised for his defensive lapses.

This season, Moreno might have to work a little harder to convince his manager, as Brendan Rodgers looks to have found his team a new defensive talisman in Joe Gomez.
The young Englishman impressed in Liverpool's pre-season tour and on Sunday made his debut for the Reds in their 1-0 win against Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium.
Rodgers to keep faith?
That debut is sure to give the former Charlton starlet great confidence and heap more pressure on Moreno, as the versatility of Gomez means he can play just as well at left-back and, having been part of a back-four that looked very strong against Stoke City, Gomez looks set to continue in his role.
Liverpool's next game is against newly-promoted AFC Bournemouth on Monday and, assuming Brendan Rodgers doesn't want to change what looks like a winning formula, Gomez appears set to make another debut, this time at Anfield.
Two good options
Of course Moreno will look to work even harder to retain his place in the first-team and should Gomez show any signs of slipping up in the near future, the speedy Spaniard will surely fancy his first team chances yet again.
One thing's for sure, it could now get very interesting at Liverpool considering Rodgers has two quality left-backs at his disposal.
