Chaparro wants on strike Levante axed

Real Betis coach Paco Chaparro has called for Levante to be automatically relegated if their players go ahead with their proposed 48-hour strike.

The Levante squad announced in a letter on Thursday that they plan to strike on April 26 and 27, the weekend they are due to play against Recreativo Huelva, but Chaparro is upset at the thought of Recreativo, the team in the last safety position and four points behind Betis, picking up easy points should Levante not turn up for their game.

He told Valencia newspaper Las Provincias: "If we don´t want complications during the league we should send them down."
