Reports in Spain just won’t leave the speculation surrounding Nicolas Otamendi and Manchester United alone, but today’s report from newspaper Super Deporte has information sure to interest all Red Devils fans.
It’s said that if United can finally wrangle Otamendi from Valencia’s grasp then they’ll turn their attentions to Manchester City centre-back Eliaquim Mangala.

A big obstacle is Valencia holding out for United to meet Otamendi’s release clause of €50million, but with Sergio Ramos having agreed a new Real Madrid deal Louis van Gaal’s options are running thin. Does it mean United could inadvertently bring City into the saga? You bet.
City hijack Pedro deal?
However, interestingly our second big story also concerns the two Manchester teams, with it being purported by Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo that City have offered more for Barcelona star Pedro.
United were close to doing a deal - could the Noisy Neighbours ruin it? You bet. Of course Manuel Pellegrini is still also said to be intent on securing the services of former Chelsea man Kevin De Bruyne. It’s safe to say they can’t afford both men.
United for Stones
It’s only right that we wrap up our report with another transfer story, so we’ll turn to John Stones. Word on the grapevine is that United are preparing to offer Jonny Evans plus cash in a bid to convince Everton to sell the England international, with the Toffees having already snubbed two bids from Chelsea.
Given their lack of options at centre-back it looks to be a good move from United and Van Gaal. Fans will likely have their own opinions as to whether or not Stones is at the required level yet to improve the Old Trafford squad.
United fans, do you have an opinion on any of today’s stories? Let us know your thoughts in the comments box below if so.
