Tough Enough: Who deserves to win a WWE contract?

Published Add your comment

There was a lot of hype surrounding the return of Tough Enough with Chris Jericho as host and some big names joining the show as the judges.

Having Daniel Bryan, Paige and Hulk Hogan on the show was definitely going to get fans to tune in, although The Miz has replaced Hogan as the third judge due to the recent racism scandal.

The format of the show has been criticised heavily. This is because voting suggests the show is a popularity contest, and the strongest contestants are being eliminated as they don’t seem to connect as much with the WWE Universe.

Some big names have been eliminated already. Names that were seen as favourites to make it to the closing stages of the show.

Patrick Clark Jr, Giorgia Piscina, Mada Abdelhamid and Chelsea Green were four competitors who had what it takes to win the competition, but were sadly voted off earlier than expected.

That doesn’t mean they won’t earn a developmental contract with the WWE in the future, but their chances of earning a $250,000 contract with the company are over.

Now we have the final five competitors.

Amanda Saccomanno and Sara Lee will battle it out to be crowned the winner for the females. Whilst either Josh Bredl, Tanner Saraceno and Zamariah ‘ZZ’ Loupe will get their hands on that contract.

It’s pointless to ask who ‘should’ win the competition because the ones many believed should have won are no longer in the competition. Now the question needs to be asked, who actually deserves to win the competition?

We are finally down to the final two female competitors and at the start of the show, you would perhaps expect one of the two to be in the final two.

Amanda has been one of the stronger competitors throughout the show. She hasn’t always stood out as Giorgia has been dominating in the challenges, but she’s done enough to get this far.

She seems like a natural heel, so it’s good that she’s already established the kind of character she could potentially work as in the future.

That doesn’t mean she should be the winner, but right now she deserves it.

This is because the other finalist is Sara Lee. She has found herself within reach of winning the contract, yet she’s been in the bottom three more than anybody else, five times in total.

The fans seem to connect with her which is important, but at the same time she’s simply not as strong in the ring as Amanda.

Amanda deserves the contract at this stage, she’s a lot better in the ring and has a personality to show as well.

This is where it gets tricky. ZZ is somebody who isn’t as advanced in the ring, because he isn’t as well condition as the others.

However, he does connect with the WWE Universe which is why he’s still in the show. Is that a strong enough reason to have him win the competition? Many believe it makes a mockery of the entire show.

I don’t believe ZZ deserves the win. He’s not an athlete, he’s definitely an entertainer but the remaining two guys are far ahead of him.

Josh and Tanner are probably neck and neck right now. Tanner is a pure athlete who needs improvement on his personality, whilst Josh has the look the WWE just love.

Josh has also impressed in the challenges, he has a unique look and he has charisma, for that reason I believe Josh would be the deserving winner.

Whether the WWE Universe sees it that way when it’s voting time remains to be seen.
