Luis Fabiano surprised to be subbed

Sevilla forward Luis Fabiano has hit out at coach Manolo Jimenez´s decision to substitute him at half-time in Sunday´s 3-2 win at Real Mallorca.

His replacement, Frederic Kanoute, and Dani Alves put the game beyond their hosts in the space of nine second-half minutes, but despite the fact that his substitution led to the win for his club, Luis Fabiano claimed he would rather not play at all than be substituted mid-game and wants to speak to Jimenez about the situation.

"The change at half-time surprised me, I didn´t see it coming," he told Spanish newspaper Marca. "I´m going to speak to the coach because if he´s going to take me off every game then it´d be better for me to stay on the bench. Nobody likes having to come off during a game."
