Tottenham Hotspur starlet Dele Alli is hoping to make his home debut for the club against Stoke City this weekend.

The former MK Dons midfielder signed for Spurs on deadline day in January, but returned to his old club on loan to help Karl Robinson's men achieve promotion to the Championship.

Back at Tottenham, the 19-year-old featured throughout pre-season and made his debut in the 1-0 Premier League defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford on the opening day. He now has his sights set on impressing the club's supporters closer to home.

“I can’t wait for my first home game. It will be amazing to experience the atmosphere created by all the Tottenham fans. Obviously they were great at Old Trafford last week but I’m really excited to finally go out and play at home with everyone right behind the team," he told the official Spurs website.

“I’ve been to a few games at White Hart Lane before to watch matches, but it’d be amazing to play there.

"It’s up to the gaffer if I play or not, but I’ll be working as hard as I can on and off the pitch so that if he calls upon me I’m ready.”

Whilst Alli wasn't involved in the fixtures last season, the teenager is well aware of how Mauricio Pochettino's side faired against the Potters, losing 2-1 at the Lane in 2014 and 3-0 at the Britannia Stadium in May.

With teammates stressing the need to to put that right this time around, the England youth international will be willing to give everything to get a result against Mark Hughes' side.

“A couple of the boys have spoken about the previous results against Stoke so we want to make that right this weekend,” he added.

“We’ll take each game as it comes and we’re going to work hard, put our all into it and do as well as we can.”

After meeting Stoke at the weekend, Spurs then travel to Leicester before hosting Everton at the end of the month.
