Manchester United could offer Thomas Muller as much as £135,000-a-week to move to Old Trafford before the close of the transfer window.
This has been reported by the Independent, citing German magazine Kicker, who claim that Louis van Gaal holds a great interest in the striker, who he previously managed during his tenure with the Bavarians.
In fact, the report claims that the Red Devils attempted to land the brilliant forward in the last transfer window, but now believe they could persuade Bayern into offloading him in the coming weeks.

Manchester United, of course, are limited in attack after the departures of Robin van Persie and Radamel Falcao, so it wouldn't come as a major surprise if they added to their striker ranks sooner rather than later.
Captain Wayne Rooney will no doubt have a key role to play this term, while the duo of Javier Hernandez and James Wilson will be hoping to star on a regular basis under the Dutch regime.
It won't be easy
One thing's for sure, the signing of Muller would change the dynamics at the Theatre of Dreams. Muller is without a doubt one of the best players in world football, and would only improve the Red Devils as they go in search of domestic and European success.
Surely, though, it's not going to be easy for United to sign the centre-forward, as he's still clearly an integral part of Pep Guardiola's side in the Bundesliga. Muller really is one of the classiest strikers in the game and would only compliment Wayne Rooney up front.
A world-class striker really would prove a coup for the Red Devils, who are still in need of improvement under Van Gaal.
