David de Gea is less than impressed with the claim made by Louis van Gaal that he has refused to play for Manchester United in their first two games of the season.
The Spanish international has been left out of the Red Devils' squad for their game against Aston Villa tonight having missed the 1-0 win against Tottenham last Saturday.
Van Gaal claimed yesterday that De Gea had told Manchester United goalkeeper coach Frans Hoek that he wasn't in the right frame of mind to play having been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid all summer long.

However the Daily Mail report that De Gea is 'baffled' by those claims and is ready to play if called upon by his manager.
The former Atletico Madrid man has not travelled with his Manchester United team-mates to the Midlands for the game tonight, with Sergio Romero set to deputise in his place once more.
The situation is threatening to turn ugly as talks with Real Madrid continue to lead nowhere. De Gea has been included in Manchester United's Champions League squad for this season and Van Gaal is hopeful that if he is still at Old Trafford come the end of the window then a solution to get him back on the pitch can be reached.
De Gea won't play for Manchester United until the transfer window shuts according to the Daily Mail, and the Spaniard wholeheartedly refutes claims that he didn't want to play against Spurs or Villa.
Van Gaal has previously praised the Spanish goalkeeper for his professionalism during pre-season amidst talk of a move to Madrid.
