Rijkaard calls for unity

Barcelona coach Frank Rijkaard has urged his club´s disgruntled supporters not to give up on the team following the stuttering Catalan giants´ latest setback in their hunt for the Primera Liga title.

Barca fans jeered and waved white handkerchiefs in protest at the end of Sunday´s goalless home draw with Getafe as Rijkaard´s men remained seven points behind arch-rivals Real Madrid at the top of the standings.

"It is times like this we need to help the team and show unity. We need all the support of the Barcelona fans to help the players, who are the heart of Barca, and that the team and fans are united," the Dutchman said.
