Finn Balor has said in a recent interview that he doesn’t want to be called up to the main roster just yet, and has answered the rumours speculating him becoming the next Paul Heyman guy.
The NXT Champion recently appeared on the PodNasty Wrestling Podcast where he spoke about the upcoming NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn main event with Kevin Owens, his memories of ‘Rowdy’ Roddy Piper, hitting the ceiling at a WWE Live event, and the possibility of a Bullet Club stable in NXT.
Main Roster Debut?
The Demon also spoke about moving from NXT to the main roster, a move that he doesn’t want to make just yet due to what is happening down in Florida.

He said: "What we're doing at NXT right now is groundbreaking. It's revolutionary. For me, it's like a Renaissance period in wrestling, and I want to be involved in NXT, I don't want to go to the quote-unquote main roster, I don't want to get called up, so to speak, because I believe that we at NXT are building something together that is going to be looked back on in 10 years the same way that we looked back on the ECW period as being revolutionary at that time, and this is something that I want to be involved in."
He is correct. The standard of wrestling that’s taking place in NXT at the moment is phenomenal, sometimes even better than what’s taking place on the main roster shows. The likes of Balor, Owens, Sami Zayn, Neville, and Hideo Itami have taken the division to a whole new level.
Next Paul Heyman Guy?
When he does eventually debut on the main roster, many of speculated that he will be next in line to become a Paul Heyman guy. He would follow in the footsteps of Ryback, Cesaro, CM Punk, and of course The Beast Brock Lesnar.
He said on the matter: "I'm a big admirer of Paul, and I've had a lot of conversations with Paul about what we could do potentially in the future but it's all hypothetical at the moment. That was some incredible, incredible fan art that I'm very fortunate that people send me all the time and I like to publicize some of their work and that's literally all that was.
“A lot of people read into it their own way, and I apologize for that. But who knows, I will be in Brooklyn for NXT Takeover, I believe SummerSlam is in Brooklyn the next night, I believe Raw is in Brooklyn the next night so I'll be in Brooklyn. Who knows?"
Has Balor just opened the can of worms on his future in the WWE as the next Paul Heyman guy? If this does happen, I think he could reach even more popularity than what he has right now and cement himself into WWE history at the same level, or even greater than the likes of CM Punk.
He has that connection with the WWE Universe like Daniel Bryan, but also surrounds himself in mystery like The Undertaker and Bray Wyatt. He truly is a one-of-a-kind WWE superstar and will be a great success whenever he makes his main roster debut.
