United in for Muller
It seems the saga surrounding Manchester United and the hunt for a new forward isn’t going to end anytime soon, with Spanish publication Sport having claimed today that Louis van Gaal will make a renewed effort to sign Thomas Muller.
It’s believed the Germany international is still wanted by the Dutchman despite Bayern Munich’s stern insistence that he won’t be sold, and United are believed to be ready to table a huge offer worth €80million.
It’s somewhat comically implied that the Red Devils won’t pay €30m for Pedro, but will stump up almost triple that for Muller. You can guess who Van Gaal apparently wants more out of the two.
Man City for Otamendi
Elsewhere it could be bad news on the Nicolas Otamendi front, with Manchester City now thought to be closer to signing the Argentina international. Manuel Pellegrini is thought to be edging close to a £29m capture; one that would potentially leave United in trouble.
With Sergio Ramos having penned a new Real Madrid deal Van Gaal is running out of options if he wants to add an experienced centre-half to the mix. Is it time to hit the panic button?
De Gea offer
Lastly it’s claimed today that Real are going to offer David de Gea £12m as a signing on bonus, in a bid to ensure he waits until next summer before joining Los Blancos on a free transfer.
The goalkeeper is Florentino Perez’s top target this summer, but having already signed Kiko Casilla it seems the Spanish giants will wait one more year to get their man.
