It seems the saga surrounding Manchester United and the hunt for a new forward isn’t going to end anytime soon, with Spanish publication Sport having claimed today that Louis van Gaal will make a renewed effort to sign Thomas Muller. It’s believed the Germany international is still wanted by the Dutchman despite Bayern Munich’s stern insistence that he won’t be sold, and United are believed to be ready to table a huge offer worth €80million. It’s somewhat comically implied that the Red Devils won’t pay €30m for Pedro, but will stump up almost triple that for Muller. You can guess who Van Gaal apparently wants more out of the two. Elsewhere it could be bad news on the Nicolas Otamendi front, with Manchester City now thought to be closer to signing the Argentina international. Manuel Pellegrini is thought to be edging towards a £29m capture; one that would potentially leave United in trouble.
