France´s injury problems are piling up ahead of this week´s friendlies against Mali and England, with star striker Thierry Henry and captain Patrick Vieira the latest players to drop out of contention.

Barely an hour after Barcelona striker Henry was officially withdrawn from the squad - the exact nature of his injury has not been revealed by the Les Bleus staff - Internazionale midfielder Vieira announced he would not feature against England in Wednesday´s senior international because of a thigh strain.

Since an enlarged 39-man squad was announced on Thursday, Louis Saha, Mathieu Valbuena (groin), Karim Benzema (knee), Bacary Sagna (ankle) and Sebastien Frey have all gone down with injuries, and Portsmouth midfielder Lassana Diarra (thigh) is expected to join the list.
