Could an Owens vs Jericho feud be on the horizon?

Published 1 Comments

With the build up to SummerSlam all but over and the event itself under a week away, WWE are now looking to start building more rivalries to head into both Night of Champions and Hell in a Cell.

One of these rivalries could be Kevin Owens taking on Chris Jericho. The two have had a few one-on-one matches at recent live events and now the thought is that WWE Officials and many WWE Superstars were so impressed with the matches that they now want to book the rivalry for TV.

The one problem being that Jericho is happy with his current contract and whilst still on tour with his band Fozzy, he wont be available for a lot of the dates WWE may need him for. But WWE are hoping to get past this and give Owens another big superstar to learn from.

This week has seen a lot of speculation surrounding Kevin Owens and the fact that WWE are not happy with the way he looks. Randy Ortons comment on Raw began the rumours but it seems the comments did come from someone backstage and that could be the way they now view Kevin Owens.

One thing is for sure, regardless of his weight Kevin Owens has been showing his agility and technical ability but giving match of the year performances with almost every superstar he has been paired with.

It is very unlikely that WWE would drop Owens due to his size after implementing a different approach to talent over the past few years that has seen the likes of Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose become big superstars despite not meeting the usual Vince McMahon stereotype.

Owens will be on Raw tonight as the final build up to his match with Cesaro is due to take place before possibly being a part of Tuesday's Smackdown tapings.

He will then main event NXT Brooklyn as he takes on Finn Balor in his rematch for the NXT Championship which is to be contested in a ladder match before staying in Brooklyn to perform the following night at SummerSlam where he takes on Cesaro.

For someone WWE are not happy pushing, it seems Kevin Owens is the only male superstar working both events on consecutive nights and it does look like he is being booked in the appropriate spots.
