Despite the high level of potential that Griffin entered the league with, he has barely even began to live up to the hype due to a very serious knee problem.
It almost seems like a pre-season tradition now with fans once again asking will RGIII start the season and if so, will he make it to the end.
Despite there being a lot of doubt surrounding him and even some calls for different quarterbacks to lead the team, the man himself has not lost any confidence.
"I feel like I'm the best quarterback in the league, and I have to go out and show that," - RGIII on his role in the NFL
Claiming to be the best quarterback in the league is a massive claim, but to say you're above Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers or even the man who was drafted just one pick above Griffin in Andrew Luck is borderline crazy.
Fair play to Griffin for not losing his confidence but the claim is a very big one and will now mean that all eyes will be on him to see if he can live up to his own hype.
On the plus side, Griffin clearly isn't lacking the ambition to go and do so.
