Valencia coach Ronald Koeman will be hoping that this week´s Copa del Rey semi-final against Barcelona will bring some much-needed cheer after seeing his side slump to yet another league defeat on Saturday.

Sevilla´s 2-1 win at the Mestalla means Valencia have lost 12 league matches already this season, seven of which have come at home, and they are now just five points above the relegation zone. Koeman´s record as Valencia coach does not make pretty reading either, with the team having won just three of their 17 league matches since the former PSV Eindhoven took the reins in November.

"It was a difficult game against a good opponent. It is a fresh blow but we need to turn the page and think about the Copa del Rey," said Koeman, whose side must travel to league leaders Real Madrid next weekend following their cup match.
