Manchester United have identified Southampton forward Saido Mane as their next potential signing after missing out on Barcelona's Pedro.
The Red Devils appeared to be closing in on the Spanish winger, only to be trumped by Chelsea while they tried to negotiate a fee with Barcelona.
That has left manager Louis van Gaal short of potential transfer targets before the transfer window closes, and now the Telegraph say that Mane has emerged as a possible option.

The Senegalese international bagged 10 goals for Southampton last season in his maiden Premier League campaign. According to the Telegraph he caught the eye of numerous clubs thanks to his pace and trickery, and now Manchester United could swoop.
Southampton, who have lost a host of top players in the last two seasons including Luke Shaw and Morgan Schneiderlin to Manchester United, will fight any attempt to lure away Mane before the window shuts.
The Telegraph add that Manchester United lodged an enquiry with the Saints and actually made an offer for his services when it became apparent that a deal for Pedro was not going to be likely.
Manchester United fans have been less than impressed with the news since it broke, with some taking to Twitter to vent their frustration. One posted: "Drop interest in Pedro and go after Sadio Mane. That's like dropping interest in Megan Fox to pursue Susan Boyle. I smell a fish!"
Another added: "In less than 24 hours we've gone from Pedro, to Müller to SADIO MANE? #MUFC"
