Mario Balotelli designs new Puma boots

Mario Balotelli has plenty of spare time on his hands at the moment whilst being out of favour at Anfield, so what has he been up to?

Previous answers to this question may have contained fireworks or visits to female prisons but it seems, this time, the Italian has been slightly more productive by making his own line of football boots.

No change there, then

Now, of course, whenever Balotelli is involved you expect something unique and outrageous and it's fair to say he hasn't let anyone down with those expectations.

The Puma evoPOWER are a special edition pair of boots that represent everything associated with the 25-year old. A black furry strip on the heel of the boot mimics his iconic mohawk. There is also reference to the striker's famous celebration at Old Trafford with the infamous slogan "Why always me?" on the outside of the boot.

The boot wouldn't be complete without the footballer displaying his initials and his squad number with MB45 on the inside of each boot.

Not quite as catchy and effective as the original R9 used by the Brazilian Ronaldo. Balotelli's signature squiggled in gold completes the boot.

Unsurprisingly, the boot is in the blue and white of his native Italy, rather than the red of Liverpool.

Big market?

But it begs the question, who on earth would buy this boot?

Well obviously very few adults would be seen wearing a boots with a furry heel, therefore the boot has only been brought out in junior sizes. But surely children across the world are fearful of buying the boots. Who wants Balotelli's scoring record of four goals in 28 appearance for Liverpool?

A lot of potential, outrageously unique but ultimately a big disappointment and a complete waste of money. The boots have so much in common with their designer.

If the boots sound like a stupid design, Balotelli has also designed a football. Well, I say design but it's just an ordinary football with another black furry strip across the top in tribute to his mohawk. Just why?

After his appearance wearing Pat Butcher's ear rings whilst watching Liverpool's clash with Bournemouth on Monday, it appears Balotelli is turning into a laughing stock.

Football fans, has Balotelli finally lost it? Can he salvage his career at Liverpool yet? Let us know in the comments box below.
