Pedro latest

Chelsea look likely to complete a deal for Barcelona star Pedro today, with his current club having dropped the biggest hint yet that a transfer has been agreed.

Reports around the web claim that the Catalan giants have uploaded a video to YouTube labelled ‘Gracias Pedro’ - obviously intended to be an emotional farewell offering - but that they quickly changed the video’s viewing settings to private.

Eagle-eyed Barca fans were too quick however, spreading word of the compilation to Twitter. Chelsea of course are latecomers in the Pedro race, but appear to have stolen pole position after United opted not to pay the required fee.

Stones transfer request

Elsewhere it’s said that the Blues want John Stones to hand in a transfer request before they make another attempt at signing him.

Jose Mourinho has already been knocked back three times with his efforts to land the England international, and wants a deal to be assured before he makes another attempt.

Mourinho's successor

Last but not least the Special One has hinted that current Chelsea assistant coach Rui Faria would make for an ideal choice regarding his Stamford Bridge successor.

Mourinho lauded his number two and said that were it his choice he would potentially pick Faria to replace him when he leaves.
