Chelsea bound Pedro is the 'perfect professional' says former team-mate

Thierry Henry has described former Barcelona team-mate Pedro has the 'perfect team-mate' ahead of his move to Chelsea.

The 27-year-old looks set to join the Stamford Bridge club after his £21 million release clause was met by the Blues, and Henry believes Pedro is the sort of player any manager would want.

Chelsea agreed to meet the release clause in Pedro's contract after Manchester United had removed their interest for the Spanish international, and the Sky Sports pundit believes Pedro will give 100 per cent for the Blues.

"The perfect team-mate, the perfect professional - he is that guy," Said Henry on Sky Sports, as per the Mirror. "He pressures from the front, but he's also the player that any manager would love to have. You know what you're going to get with Pedro, always 100 per cent.

"The way he plays, the way he trains, he doesn't talk, he doesn't create any problem for you, he's a team player who had exactly what you would love to have as a team-mate, as a player, or if you're the boss."

Pedro offers Chelsea some much needed depth and quality in the wide positions. Apart from Eden Hazard and Willian the London club are short on wingers who up to the standard required.

Juan Cuadrado has failed to live up to his price tag since joining from Fiorentina and looks set for a swift exit.

While Victor Moses has not been given the chance to impress in a competitive fixtures since rejoining Chelsea. There is also Bertrand Traore, but at 19 he is seen as one for the future.

The Spaniard brings experience and success at highest level and the ability to change a game in an instance.

If he can hit the ground running in the Premier League he could prove to be one of the signings of the summer.
