Sami Zayn offers fans update on his injury situation

Published 1 Comments

Sami Zayn's rise up the WWE ladder was cruelly halted back in May after the Canadian suffered an injury on his debut appearance on the main roster.

Injuring his shoulder as he entered the ring against John Cena, Zayn hasn't been in the squared circle on WWE's main shows since - a big blow considering how well he was being received by the WWE Universe.

With three months now having passed the Superstar is at risk of letting the hype train pass him by. And, speaking to the WWE this week, Sami Zayn didn't exactly sound positive when discussing an eventual return date.

"We're looking at at least another couple of months," Zayn said when discussing his disappointment at missing out on this weekend's NXT: Takeover. "I'm doing my best on my end but a lot of this is just nature, and however your body is going to react and whenever doctors will clear me."

"I'm doing my best in the rehab room to be back as soon as I can but don't hold your breath. Soon. Hopefully."

The prospect of not being back in action until the turn of the year is a big blow for Sami Zayn, especially considering the responsibility handed to his peers while he has been away.

Kevin Owens debuted on the main roster around the same time as Zayn earlier this year and has gone on to wow fans whilst feuding with John Cena. Fellow NXT Superstar Finn Balor meanwhile continues to be hyped as a sure fire star. All the while Sami Zayn is forced to sit back and watch.
