Pedro says he opted to join Chelsea after speaking to Jose Mourinho on the phone beforehand.
The Spanish international completed a £21 million move from Barcelona earlier today, despite heavy interest from Manchester United.
The Red Devils were unwilling to match that offer and instead tried to negotiate with Barcelona which allowed Chelsea to swoop, and now Pedro has revealed that Jose Mourinho played a key role in luring him to Stamford Bridge.

Speaking in his first interview since joining from Barcelona, Pedro revealed that Mourinho told him he needed him at Stamford Bridge while he was pondering his options.
The 28-year-old said: "He [Mourinho] is one of the main reasons why I’m here. He phoned me a few times and said he needed me to make the team stronger. He has won titles wherever he has been. I am really looking forward to playing under him and hopefully winning more titles."
Pedro is Chelsea's third signing of the summer following the arrivals of both Radamel Falcao and Asmir Begovic, and Mourinho will want him to hit the ground running after a slow start to a new campaign.
