In what is perhaps a timely debut for the UFC in Saskatoon, the birthplace of 'Rowdy' Roddy Piper, we look at the main card and attempt to predict the outcomes.
Roddy Piper was a legend of WWE but he had a place in the heart of all UFC fans due to his ties to the sport. The event will no doubt be an emotional tribute to the recently passed legend.
In Part I we take a look at the first 3 fight on the Main Card.

Maryna Moroz v. Valerie Letourneau
In the opening bout on the main card Canada is represented by Letourneau (7-3) in the Women's Atomweight Division. The Canadian has a very tough test in front of her home crowd as she goes up against Moroz (6-0).
The undefeated Ukranian fighter made a big splash in her promotional debut by submitting Joanne Calderwood in the first round in Poland earlier this year. This was Moroz's fifth armbar finish in 6 fights, with her only other fight a TKO win. It doesn't look too hopeful for the veteran Letourneau.
Prediction: Moroz by Submission
Olivier Aubin Mercier v. Tony Sims
In a fight that is very unlikely to go the distance another Canadian fighter Aubin Mercier (6-1) goes toe to toe with Tony Sims (12-2). With only two decisions between them in a collective 21 fights, you may want to refrain from blinking in this one.
Sims, an exciting knockout artist has ten KO's in twelve victories. He is currently riding a four fight win streak and is looking to upset the Tristar prodigy. Aubin Mercier's only loss came to fellow countryman and teammate Chad Laprisse, in the TUF Nations Finale.
All 6 of his victories have come by way of submission and 5 of those by rear-naked choke. A classic grappler v. striker, with bad intentions.
Prediction: Aubin Mercier by Submission
Chad Laprisse v. Francisco Trinaldo
From the runner up of TUF Nations to the winner, Laprisse (10-0) is matched up against another TUF alumni Trinaldo (17-4). Trinaldo appeared on TUF: Brazil where he competed as a Middleweight, even though his natural weight class is Lightweight, 40 pounds lighter.
Trinaldo's 4 losses have all come at the hands of high ranked opponents. He has 10 UFC bouts under his belt and is currently riding a 3 fight winning streak.
Laprisse although undefeated has become somewhat of a decision machine with his last 5 wins coming by way of decision.
Prediction: Trinaldo by Decision
