Spanish football expert Guillem Balague has insisted that Manchester United transfer target Mane is a similar player to new Chelsea signing Pedro.
In his column for the Telegraph, Balague has suggested that the two players are 'somewhat alike', while claiming that the former Barcelona man isn't as fast as Mane over longer distances.
United, of course, had been expected to secure the services of Pedro from Barcelona in this transfer window, however the Spanish international opted for Stamford Bridge and secured a move to Chelsea yesterday afternoon.

Over the course of the last 24 hours or so, the Red Devils have seemingly turned their attentions to Senegal international Mane, and Balague has compared United's new transfer target with their previous one.
The La Liga expert claimed: "Sadio Mané, who has been linked to United, is somewhat alike, but Pedro will not pick the ball up and run at players in the same way. He is fast in the first 10 to 15 metres, but not over longer distances."

Let's be honest, since the Pedro debacle escalated, it has been widely suggested that Louis van Gaal and Co. missed a trick by failing to secure the services of the 28-year-old from Barcelona.
And, of course, with the Red Devils now seemingly targeting Mane, it's not entirely surprising that questions are being asked of the United hierarchy. At the end of the day, Mane is no Pedro, but he is most definitely a talent in his own right and it would be foolish to underestimate his potential.
At just 23, the Saints ace looks set for quite the future in the game after a fine debut campaign on English soil. Should Mane arrive in Manchester over the course of the coming weeks, United would be be signing a player with wonderful speed and skill, who has the ability to both create and score goals.
He's certainly not the finished article, but he would make an interesting signing. It could well prove a risk worth taking for Manchester United.
