Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva wants to play for Besiktas next season, with an agreement close to being reached between the two clubs.
That’s according to Turkish agent Ahmed Bulut, who hints that the player will soon leave Anfield for Turkey, having been frozen out by Brendan Rodgers this season.

Indeed reports over the past week have alluded to the fact that the 28-year-old’s time on Merseyside is to be ended imminently, with a season-long loan deal to Besiktas the most obvious route.
Bulut, who represents Barcelona star Arda Turan amongst others, has now thrown his hat into the ring, not only stating that a deal is close, but also that the player now wants to play in the Super Lig.
“Talks are ongoing, Leiva wants to play for Besiktas and an agreement should be reached between the clubs soon,” Bulut said, according to reports.
Liverpool fans react
Liverpool fans are sure to have an opinion one way or the other on Lucas’ exit, though many of them will wonder if Brendan Rodgers is making the right decision by letting him leave.
The Northern Irishman isn’t short of options for the area just in front of the back four, but Lucas is one of the most experienced players in his squad, and, as cliche as it is, there really is no substitute for mileage on the clock in the Premier League.
