Bordeaux coach Laurent Blanc was left disappointed by his side´s "mediocre" display in the 2-1 defeat to Anderlecht in the first leg of their UEFA Cup last 32 tie.

The Belgian hosts scored twice in the final 11 minutes through Jan Polak and Mbo Mpenza to grab a slim lead going into next Thursday´s return leg at the Stade Chaban-Delmas. The only thing Blanc could cling to was the away goal scored from the penalty spot by midfielder Jussie, which put Les Girondins ahead in the 68th minute.

"It was mediocre stuff from both sides," said Blanc. "We anticipated playing better than that but we were not good enough in the first half."
