Arsenal supporters can look forward to the tentative links with Real Madrid’s Asier Illarramendi being rubbed out once and for all, with the Spanish midfielder looking likely to re-sign with Real Sociedad.
The La Liga outfit, now managed by Manchester United flop David Moyes, are supposedly on the brink of securing a deal for Illarramendi, despite the fact that both Arsenal and Liverpool were believed to be interested in him.
It now remains to be seen whether or not Arsene Wenger can secure the services of another defensive-midfielder before the end of the window.
It’s not all bad news though, with Arsenal purported to be considering a swoop for Edinson Cavani having lost out on Karim Benzema.

Mignolet and Cech
Lastly Petr Cech and Liverpool’s Simon Mignolet had some friendly back and forth last night following the 0-0 draw at the Emirates Stadium.
Mignolet revealed that his opposite number had asked him why he didn’t concede one goal, with the Belgian asking the same thing of Cech.
