It was a tale of two goalkeepers last night as Liverpool salvaged a goalless draw with Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium. Simon Mignolet, for all of his critics, was in fine form, as was Petr Cech, with the two stoppers the only reason neither side broke the deadlock. Following the game Mignolet revealed that he and Cech had enjoyed the struggle, asking one another why they hadn’t let at least one in. The Belgian was widely slammed last season for his performances but looks to have got his career back on track, whilst Cech appears to have found his mojo once more after a difficult start to Arsenal life. Elsewhere Mario Balotelli is all but guaranteed to be signing for AC Milan, with it said today he’s in Italy for a medical. The career U-turn looks to be what’s needed to save his ailing reputation, although the deal will only be a year-long loan to begin with.
