Arsenal need to sign a world class striker, and according to Harry Redknapp they are close to having the perfect squad, but in order to win the Premier League, Olivier Giroud needs help up front.

Its no secret that Arsenal are not a club that likes to splash out on new players just for the sake of it, but with Premier League rivals Chelsea, and Manchester City adding new talent to their respective squads over the past couple of weeks, it may be time for Arsene Wenger to supply additional talent to his already impressive squad.

The Gunners are said to be interested in making Uruguayan striker, Edinson Cavani their marquee summer signing before deadline day, according to the Independent.

The 28-year-old is constantly linked with a move to the Premier League to clubs such as Manchester United and Chelsea but Arsene Wenger's requisite for a big-name forward could see him swoop for the Paris Saint-Germain man.

Cavani isn't the only option for Arsenal, as they have been chasing Karim Benzema for a large part of the summer. However, Benzema came out publicly to dismiss any move away from the Bernabeu, tweeting a picture of himself in the Real Madrid dressing room with the caption: "This is my home!"

This news comes less than a week after former professional, Rodney Marsh claimed that a bid for Benzema had been accepted by the Spanish giants; the Frenchman would be announced and unveiled prior to the Gunners' next game.

Wenger has already claimed that he is ready to gamble with his transfer kitty, and either Cavani or Benzema would undoubtedly help the north London club propel to glory this season.
