Liverpool defender Jose Enrqiue has sent soon-to-be former team-mate Mario Balotelli a good luck message ahead his return to AC Milan.
Balotelli's disastrous spell at Anfield is close to coming to an end just 12 months after his £16 million switch from the San Siro. The Italian striker managed just one Premier League goal in 16 appearances last term and has not been included in any of Brendan Rodgers' squads for the first three games of the season.
AC Milan confirmed via their Twitter account today that the former Inter ace had undergone a medical ahead of a loan move back to Italy. The deal is said to include an option to buy at the end of next season.

While Balotelli has garnered his fair share of enemies during his time with Liverpool but Enrique has regularly stood up for him, previously claiming that the club had 'alienated' the striker as well as Fabio Borini after failing to include them in their pre-season plans.
Now ahead of his move to Milan, Enrique posted on Instagram: "Good luck my friend @mb459 . All the best and I hope you can show the player you truly are.”
Enrique is also in a perilous position with just a year on his contract and seemingly well out of Rodgers' plans. The manager has informed him, as well as Borini, that they have no future at Liverpool and neither have featured for the club this season.
Despite that, there doesn't appear to be any interested suitors with time in the transfer window starting to run out. Balotelli has managed to escape to Milan - where he claimed he always wanted to return to. "Did I imagine returning to Milan? Yes, I always had Milan in my heart and I always hoped to come back,” he is quoted as saying.
