Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger recently phoned up Dynamo Kiev forward Andriy Yarmolenko to see if the Ukraine international would be interested in a move to the Emirates Stadium - but was told by the 25-year-old that his heart is set on joining European champions Barcelona.
This is according to Catalan newspaper Sport, who claim Barcelona will only sign the forward if they are desperate in January.
Yarmolenko is on Barça’s radar, although Luis Enrique would also consider a move for Celta Vigo forward Nolito if his side struggle without Pedro in the first half of this season.

Yarmolenko has been likened to AC Milan and Ukraine legend Andriy Shevchenko, according to Sport, because of his eye for goal and speed.
He is understood to have told Wenger: "I appreciate the interest, but my dream is to play for Barcelona."
Everton are also keen
However, Yarmolenko may need to consider other options if Barcelona decide against signing him in January.
Everton are determined to secure his signature and already have a deal in place with Dynamo Kiev, but the chance to play Champions League football while competing for major honours is likely to be more appealing to the ambitious number ten.
First-team football would be a problem at Arsenal
Arsenal can offer that to Yarmolenko, but whether they could guarantee him regular first-team football is another matter.
Wenger has plenty of attacking options in his ranks and currently struggles to keep all of his players satisfied as it is. The arrival of Yarmolenko would merely complicate matters further.
Arsenal fans were hoping for a marquee signing such as Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema before the transfer window closes on September 1. Andriy Yarmolenko, despite his undoubted talent, may not appease the Gunners’ faithful.
