Bayern Munich have opened talks with Wolfsburg over a transfer for Kevin De Bruyne at the end of the season, according to Sky Sports News.
The Belgium international, who has long been mooted to be a target of Manuel Pellegrini at Manchester City, may become the latest Bundesliga star to sign for the champions.
Bayern have snared the likes of Robert Lewandowski and Mario Gotze in recent years, and if they seal a deal will no doubt throw the future of the latter into further doubt.

If Pep Guardiola does manage to put a deal in place for his man it would mean yet another exciting talent heading to Bavaria, even if they have to wait a year to see him in action.
The German heavyweights already have Thomas Muller and Gotze capable of playing in a similar position, but De Bruyne would give them yet another attacking edge as they set about winning a first Champions League crown since 2013.
Guardiola is under pressure after seeing his side thumped by Real Madrid and Barcelona in the semi-finals of the tournament, and clearly feels more attacking talent is needed if he is to win a third European crown of his managerial career.
Gotze is one of the best playmakers in European football, but the already discontented player may now attempt to push ahead with a move away from the Allianz Arena.
The German superstar scored the winner in the 2014 World Cup final, but often has to settle for a spot on the substitutes bench with the club often preferring to field Muller up top alongside Lewandwoski.
News that De Bruyne may now remain in the Bundesliga will no doubt hurt Pellegrini, who has been attempting to thrash out a deal all summer long only for Wolfsburg to stand in the way.
Gotze may now be available for transfer and City could look to capitalise - though the midfielder would be unlikely to move on the cheap even if he does attempt to force his way into the arms of a new club.
