Spanish football expert Guillem Balague has suggested that Neymar's family will soon leak information about the Brazilian superstar wanting to fulfill a lifetime ambition by playing in the Premier League after the player's recent link with Manchester United.

Writing for Yahoo Sport, the Sky Sports pundit has insisted that the player's family are only looking out for his best interests, as they go about squeezing every penny out of Barcelona in an attempt to secure a new deal with the club.

Neymar, of course, is recognised as one of the world's best players, so it's not entirely surprising that Manchester United have been credited with interest in him, as Louis van Gaal and Co. go about changing the dynamics of the squad at Old Trafford.

It appears, though, that if Balague is to be believed, the player - and his representatives - will use the Red Devils in order to secure a new deal with the Catalans.

Balague stated: "Within the next few hours, if it hasn’t appeared already, expect to see splash headlines appearing in the Brazilian paper El Globo revealing exclusively that Neymar will fulfil a lifetime’s ambition by playing in the Premier League if he decides to join Manchester United who will offer a jaw-dropping 190 million euros for him. That is a leak from the Neymar family, who looks after his interests."

Start of a saga

"What we are seeing now is the first episode of what is going to be a long and drawn out saga because what they have at the moment is that most valuable of commodities – time. Barcelona will want to put the matter to bed as soon as possible.

"Neymar’s people on the other hand will be looking to take it to the wire because the closer the player comes to the end of his deal, the more nervous the club will get about the potential threat of losing one of its major assets.

"It’s all about cold hard cash of course, and those stories in the press are preparing the ground and attempting with whatever means they have at their disposal to squeeze out the absolute maximum in what will certainly be a stratospheric new deal for the player who wants the next contract to give him the status he thinks he deserves as one of the top three players in the world."

United need a superstar

Let's be honest, no one is really expecting Neymar to arrive through the Old Trafford gates anytime soon. It appears to be near enough impossible, but the Red Devils are clearly in need of a superstar in their ranks.

With Wayne Rooney approaching the latter stages of his career, United need a new talisman to really put them back on the map in both the domestic and European scene.

Ultimately, youngster Memphis Depay may well form into a world-class player, but United are in need of one right now. The trouble for United, however, is that finding a superstar is easier said than done.
