Bayern Munich have entered the race to sign Wolfsburg midfielder Kevin de Bruyne, and are willing to wait till next season to do so.

Reports in the Telegraph claim that Bayern Munich see de Bruyne as the ideal replacement for Franck Ribery, who will turn 33 this season.

Despite the fact Manchester City are now willing to meet de Bruyne’s £50m valuation, Wolfsburg are reportedly desperate to keep hold of the Belgian midfielder this window, due to the lack of time left to replace him.

De Bruyne, after a fantastic season for Wolfsburg last year, has been linked to a host of top clubs throughout the summer transfer window including Paris Saint-Germain, and more recently, Manchester United.

Key figure

Were City to lose out on De Bruyne, many fans would surely question why the deal has been left so late in the window, after a whole summer of being linked to the exciting midfielder.

De Bruyne was in scintillating form for Wolfsburg last term, contributing an astounding 17 goals and 29 assists in 56 games for the German outfit in all competitions.

He remained a key figure for the team throughout the whole of last season and helped the team return to the Champions league with a 2nd place finish in the Bundesliga.

After flopping at Chelsea, is Kevin De Bruyne really worth £50million? Give us YOUR opinion in the comment box below!
