Mario Balotelli has pinned the blame on Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers for failing to get the best out of him at Anfield.
The Italian, whose season-long loan move to AC Milan was confirmed on Thursday morning, believes Rodgers’ tactics did not suit his playing style.
Balotelli also claims, contrary to recent reports that have come out of Liverpool, that he always acted professionally during his ill-fated spell with the Reds.

“I must accept my faults, but the formation chosen by [manager Brendan] Rodgers was not suited to my characteristics,” Balotelli was quoted as saying by the Mirror. “But I never complained, I accepted the decisions of the manager and I always behaved like a professional."
Stories have recently emerged claiming Balotelli deliberately scored an own goal from the half-way line during one bizarre training session, while it’s alleged he missed another session entirely in order to buy himself the latest iPhone.

Balotelli denies lack of professionalism
But Balotelli has hit back at suggestions he was anything but professional at Anfield following his loan move back to Milan.
“The professional Mario didn’t just land here in Milanello, even at Liverpool my behaviour and lifestyle were normal.
"Over the last year there was never a problem with my private life. I may have put pictures from restaurants on Instagram, but that does not mean I did not train even though I was not playing.
“I have trained a lot, two sessions at times by myself over the last month with [Fabio] Borini and Jose Enrique: it was tough, but if I didn’t do it I would have been dead tired after training yesterday.
“That’s because Mihajlovic’s sessions are hard, but I am well.”
Liverpool may not have seen the last of Balotelli, though. The Italian is still an employee of the Merseyside outfit and will return to Anfield next summer if the Reds are unable to find a buyer for the controversial Italy international.
