U.S Bank Stadium is supposed to be completed for next season and the fans of the Vikings are eagerly awaiting the opening of their new home.
However the construction has had a major disaster strike it in the last few days after the whole site was closed for a day.
Unfortunately, two workers plummeted from the roof of the stadium on Wednesday which resulted in the entire project being halted.
Both men were treated on site and one unfortunately passed away once he was taken to hospital.
The two men have not been named but the Vikings have issued their condolences to the family's of the workers.
"Our sincere thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of the individual who passed away, the worker who remains hospitalized, and the more than 1,000 dedicated construction workers who are on the site every day and are also affected by this accident." - Vikings statement on stadium fatality
A true tragedy in Minnesota and one that will surely be treated with the utmost respect by the entire Vikings organisation.
