Real Madrid sporting director Predrag Mijatovic does not believe the Spanish champions could have done much more to prevent their Copa del Rey last-16 exit at the hands of Real Mallorca on Wednesday.

The visitors then hit Bernd Schuster´s side with the ultimate sucker-punch when playmaker Ariel Ibagaza clinically chipped home what was arguably Mallorca´s only decent chance of the match in the 82nd minute, sealing a 3-1 aggregate win for the Balearic side and ending Real´s hopes of a trophy treble.

"It has been a real shame because we have played very well, perhaps it has been one of the best games that we have played here," said the former Real striker. "We have had many chances, maybe more than 15, but the ball simply would not go in, and when you let teams off, in the end, you are punished."
