Arsenal goalkeeper Manuel Almunia is determined to earn himself an international call-up - whether that be with Spain or England.

The 30-year-old has cemented himself as the Gunners´ first choice this season but has yet to be involved with the Spanish national team, and qualifying for UK citizenship next year could open the way for his selection by England manager Fabio Capello ahead of the 2010 World Cup.

"In the future, if Spain do not call me then I have to look after myself and try to play international football," he said.
