Mario Balotelli has bid farewell to Liverpool Football Club and its fans after posting a tribute to them on his official Facebook account.
The controversial Italian has completed a season-long loan move back to AC Milan, the team he left just 12-months ago to join Liverpool.
Brendan Rodgers agreed to pay £16million in order to sign the former-Manchester City striker, but just a year later and four goals to his name, Balotelli has already left Merseyside after failing to impress.

Balotelli's attitude and work-rate hasn't changed since his City days, and his laziness on the football field didn't warm the fans to him - he spent most of last season on the bench or out of the match-day squad completely.
The Italian was signed alongside Rickie Lambert in order to try and replace the goals scored by Luis Suarez, who had joined FC Barcelona.
However, both Lambert and Balotelli have now left Anfield, with the former departing for West Bromwich Albion on a permanent basis.
Balotelli to AC Milan
As for Balotelli, his Liverpool career might not be over permanently, as it's just a season-long loan deal to AC Milan, but most people are preparing themselves to see the striker leave this time next year.
After arriving in Italy earlier this week, Balotelli has passed his medical at his former-club and has even joined in a training session with his new/old team-mates.
Posting on his official Facebook account, the 25-year-old sent out a message to all the Liverpool fans and thanked them for their continued support during his brief stint at the club.
"I’m grateful to Liverpool FC and Liverpool fans for the time and opportunities you gave me," he wrote.
"It’s not a goodbye but rather a farewell.
"I’ll be supporting you guys all the way in every competition… unless you face AC Milan."
