Ajax got their Eredivisie title bid back on track in stunning fashion with a 6-1 demolition of 10-man AZ Alkmaar.

AZ had gone ahead early on through Ari Ferreira, but Jan Vertonghen equalised for Ajax midway through the half and the game turned just before the break when AZ´s Demy De Zeuw was dismissed for deliberate handball and Kenneth Perez scored the resulting penalty.

The second half saw Ajax totally dominate with two goals from Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and strikes from Kennedy Bakircioglu and Leonardo sealing the win which moved them back up to second.
