Arsene Wenger has called for the introduction of video technology

Published 4 Comments

Arsene Wenger has called for the introduction of video replays in football after Aaron Ramsey was denied a goal in the Gunners’ 0-0 draw against Liverpool on Monday. The Frenchman believes the technology will reduce referee errors and can be used alongside the current Goalline Technology System. Arsenal are set to be without first-choice central defender Per Mertesacker for their trip to Newcastle United on Saturday lunchtime after the Germany international refused to take antibiotics. The 30-year-old is still battling the chest infection which kept him out of Monday’s 0-0 draw against Liverpool, but Arsene Wenger claims his player is reluctant to take the treatment on offer. And finally Besiktas are considering an offer for David Ospina if they miss out on top target Victor Valdes.
