Any wrestler who gets his or her hands on a WWE title deserve to be praised for getting to that stage in their respective careers but, as is often inevitable, the longer they hold on to that title the louder the criticism becomes.
And, as she fast approaches the 296 day total that will see her become the longest reigning WWE Divas champion ever, Nikki Bella is in the middle of that particular storm as we speak.
In the face of reports this week suggested that it was only because of the behind-the-scenes actions of her boyfriend, WWE Superstar John Cena, that she had held the title for so long, the Diva responded to such claims on social media today.

The story, as was reported by numerous publications this week, was that Cena had stepped to disrupt WWE's plan for Charlotte to be replace Nikki Bella as Divas champion following her promotion to the main roster.
Unfortunately for Nikki Bella, with these types of rumors it is very difficult to prove their validity either way so her attempts to quash the speculation today could fall on deaf ears.
However, considering the long-standing theory that the WWE want Nikki Bella to overtake AJ Lee as the longest running Divas champion, it seems unlikely they would have been willing to take it from her at this stage.
Indeed, such is the WWE's apparent desire to erase AJ Lee (and her husband CM Punk) from the WWE record books that Nikki Bella is virtually a lock to surpass the 295 days Lee held the title for between June 16, 2013 and April 7, 2014.
