Tony Pulis has confirmed, that subject to personal terms being agreed, Manchester United central defender Jonny Evans is close to joining West Brom.
In a sudden and surprising development on Friday, Tony Pulis confirmed a deal, reported to be worth £6 million plus add ons worth up to £2 million had been agreed with Man Utd.
And whilst many Man Utd supporters will be questioning why the club has decided to sell a three-time Premier League winner at such a low price, West Brom supporters will be divided on whether this is a true marquee signing or not.

Evans has only averaged 18 league appearances per season, over the last seven seasons so a question mark remains on whether Tony Pulis has orchestrated one of the bargains of the summer transfer window, or whether Man Utd have simply cashed in on a player who has less than 10 months left on his contract.
West Brom supporters should be buoyed by the fact that over the last two seasons, Evans has been a genuine victim of both David Moyes and Louis van Gaal's experimental formations, that have done little to highlight his more traditional approach in a central defensive position.
With Paddy McNair and Tyler Blackett also waiting in the wings to re-ignite their careers at Old Trafford this season, clearly Van Gaal is quietly confident the club have more than enough central defenders for cover, even if they do not make any further signings in this transfer window.
Jonny Evans will be missed by Man Utd supporters who will always remember his no nonsense approach to defending and West Brom supporters should be very excited at the prospect of landing a 27-year-old world class defender, hungry to make a name for himself alongside one of the most highly respected coaches working in world football today.
